Title: Advances in Diagnosis and Treatment of Dry Eye
Dr. Sutphin attended Medical School at the Vanderbilt University. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the Naval Medical Center. He then went on to receive a fellowship training on Anterior Segment Surgery and Cornea & External Diseases at the Baylor College of Medicine.
John E. Sutphin, MD, Luther and Ardis Fry Professor and Chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Kansas, was elected Vice-Chair of the American Board of Ophthalmology, with promotion to board chair in January 2015.  Actively involved in many key professional organizations, service highlights include Research and Scientific Program committees with the Eye Bank Association of America, and one year as Executive Secretary and five years as Executive Vice-President of the Ocular Microbiology and Immunology Group.  Section Editor for “Clinical Practice” of The Ocular Surface, Dr. Sutphin is known for leading-edge clinical research in ocular infectious diseases and confocal microscopy.

Registration

Advance registration is required. Please register no later than March 6th. Members of the COS can register using the on-line form. If you are registering a guest or if you otherwise owe a fee, use the paper form which can be downloaded in PDF format.
Annual COS dues includes attendance at the monthly dinners. Therefore, there is no charge for members in good standing.*
 
For non-members, guests and members in arrears, the registration fee is $75. Residents & fellows in training are not charged, but advance registration is still required.

Members are considered "in good standing" if their dues are now paid.

Target Audience: Practicing ophthalmologists, ophthalmology residents and fellows

Objectives:
 At the conclusion of the learning activities for the 2016/2017 academic year, the participant should be able to:

1. Describe advances in medical and surgical management of glaucoma, retina diseases and corneal conditions.

2. Discuss factors relating to diagnosis and treatment of pediatric eye diseases.

3. List key factors a surgeon should consider when performing combined cataract/glaucoma procedures.

4. Evaluate new options for management of glaucoma, cornea, retina and pediatric eye diseases and describe the pros and cons when utilizing them in a comprehensive ophthalmology. practice.

Dinner
